Free Comic Book Day

I'm still not allowed to explain what the book I'm working on is called, or what it's about or show you any drawings but I CAN announce that I'm working on a small side story for Dark Horse's Free Comic Book Day issue. It will kind of tie into the main story, but really it's just a nice way to introduce the main character and the world he inhabits. And thankfully Dark Horse gave us the back cover (well it's a flip cover, so I'll just say it's the front), James Jean gets the other side. Now I have to draw the damn thing and see if I can show Mr. Jean up.

I hate smilies so just imaging a winking one or something to go with that last line.

:) :) :) :) (just kidding--I couldn't resist!)

Congrats on the big news hombre! You should be honored that James Jean is doing YOUR back cover! (that's the way you should look at it if you ask me!). Can't wait to see what you pull out of the hat for this but I'm sure it'll be great.

If you want my advice, you should rent "The Descent." Not for inspiration or any ideas but because Laini and I watched it the other night and it *$#&ing kicks ass! Then you should read the book by Jeff Long that the movie was (I'm assuming) based on. Actually the movie touches on about 1/100th of what the book does and it's UNBELIEVABLY awesome! Why all the non-sequiturs you might ask? Because we ate sandwiches for dinner! (see! There I go again!)

Enough rambling from me.

Ciao,
Jim
